The Heavy Civil Earthworks Supervisor will report directly to the Project Manager and Construction Manager of their assigned projects, and indirectly to the Operations Manager.
The Heavy Civil Earthworks Supervisor will oversee the daily activities within the project to ensure alignment with the safety, environmental, quality, and contractual requirements of the project.
Job Duties

- Assist to Identify, Assemble and Evaluate the Onsite Team
- Read and Interpret Construction Drawings and Specifications
- Ensure the Safety of all Personnel on Projects and within Kettle River Contracting
- Ensure Environmental Compliance of Work Projects
- Perform, Educate and Document Daily Field Level Hazard Assessments
- Perform, Educate and Document Daily Equipment Inspections
- Perform, Educate and Document Daily Light Vehicle Inspections if Provided a Company Vehicle
- Client Management including Progress Meetings, Email, and Direct Communication
- Assist with Resource Scheduling including Equipment, Manpower, Materials and Subcontractors
- Project Scheduling
- Assist with Change Order Requests
- Assist with RFIs, Engineering Requirements
- Assist with Cost Tracking
- Assist with Progress Tracking
- Schedule and Coordinating Equipment and Manpower with other Projects
- Co-ordinate Daily Activities with Crews and Subcontractors
- Effectively Seek Productive Methods of Completing Tasks
- Ensure Quality of Work Meets or Exceeds Contractual Requirements
- Work Under Pressure and Tight Deadlines.
- Keep a Structured and Organized Work Site
- Understands, Possesses Knowledge of Heavy Equipment, Operations and Best Practices.
- Possess a Valid Driver’s License (class 5 or equivalent)
- Operate and Maintain in a Professional Manner, any Kettle River Contracting Provided Assets including Cell Phones, Computers and Vehicles
- Adhere to all Kettle River Policies
- Train, Mentor and Lead other Employees

Job Requirements
- Possess a valid BC Ministry of Mines Shift Boss Certification in Good Standing
- Minimum of Valid Class 5 Drivers License
- Minimum of 3 Year Experience in the Construction Industry in a Supervisory Role
- Strong Leadership, Communication, Interpersonal and Supervisory Skills
- Be Fit for Duty
- Able to Work in Various Environments and Weather Conditions
- Must be Safety Orientated, Self-Motivated and Work Well with Other Employees and Subcontractors
- Have Good Organizational Skills
- Self-Disciplined
- Pass Pre-Employment, Annually, and Post Incident Drug and Alcohol Testing
- Mine Supervisor Certification (considered an asset)
- Shift Boss Certified (considered an asset)
Experience
- Heavy Civil Supervision – 3 years
- Open Pit Mining Supervision – 3 years
- Underground Utilities Supervision – Asset
- Oil and Gas Supervision – Asset
- Utility Installation and HDPE Piping Supervision – Asset
