Site Description:

Horizon’s Sussex Health Centre is an acute care hospital serving approximately 30,000 people.

The Town of Sussex is a major dairy producer and hosts large Potash and natural gas sites.

Position Details:

• Position: Casual Security Guard
• Site: Sussex Health Centre
• Overtime: Overtime (exceeding 44 hours)
• Hours: As needed
• Payrate: $20.73/hour
• Posting Date: April 22, 2025
• Closing Dates: Internal and External: June 9, 2025

Key Responsibilities

• Patrol Hospital Grounds: Conduct rounds of premises including parking, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits to ensure safety.
• Monitor Surveillance Systems: Operate cameras and alarm systems, report suspicious activity immediately.
• Access Control: Monitor entry points, ensure only authorized individuals access restricted areas.
• Respond to Emergencies: Act quickly during medical emergencies, fires, or security threats, assist staff as needed.
• Provide Customer Service: Greet and assist visitors, patients, and staff, provide directions, and enforce policies.
• Conflict Resolution: De-escalate tense situations professionally and calmly.
• Report Writing: Document incidents and activities accurately, complete incident reports.
• Collaboration: Work with hospital staff and law enforcement to ensure safety.
• Enforce Policies: Ensure hospital policies are followed, address violations appropriately.

Prerequisites

• Valid Security License for New Brunswick
• Covid-19 vaccination (two doses)
• Immunization records for MMR, Varicella, TB
• Fluent in English (oral and written)
• Experience in security or law enforcement preferred
• Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) required; can opt into Paladin's training if lacking
