Site: Kingston General Hospital (KGH) - 76 Stuart St

Hours: Monday- Friday: 0600-1400/1400-2200

Averaging Agreement: Employment Standards Act (ESA) after 40 hours

Payrate: $22.61/hour

Internal Start Date: October 14, 2025

Internal Closing Date: October 21, 2025

External Closing Date: November 30, 2025

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain a professional, visible, and alert security presence
  • Greet, assist, and direct visitors and staff
  • Ensure the safety and security of clients, property, and assets
  • Conduct interior and exterior patrols, responding to incidents and emergencies
  • Document, report, and investigate security events and routine incidents
  • Perform patient watches and support hospital operations as required
  • Enforce hospital policies, parking, and smoking by-laws
  • Manage access and key control, and complete monthly safety inspections
  • Work effectively independently and as part of a team
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C Certificate (from a WSIB-approved provider)
  • Ability to be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccine (minimum double vaccination)
  • A copy of your immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], Varicella, Pertussis and TB Skin Tests - Step 1 & 2)

  • KHSC Immunization Forms
  • Completed immunization for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella and Pertussis are required at the time of hire. Applicants who are not immunized or are otherwise unable to provide their MMR‑V immunity at the time of hire will not be deemed eligible for the position.
  • Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check (during onboarding)
  • Minimum 6 months healthcare security experience preferred
  • Minimum 6 months of non-healthcare security experience preferred
  • Must be able to commit to full‑time availability for no less than 6 months
  • English proficiency (oral & written) is required
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset
  • 6+ months of customer service experience is considered an asset
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Stay Safe
    • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's Stay Safe certification program prior to their onboarding certification to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
  • Please be aware: The Stay Safe certification is not paid as it is a pre‑requisite, however Paladin will cover all the costs of the certification with a 6‑month commitment to the position/availability
