Halton Healthcare is seeking an experienced SQL/Oracle Database Administrator to support clinical and enterprise systems in a 24/7 hospital environment. The role includes database design, backups, disaster recovery planning, high availability setups, security, and auditing, plus collaboration with EMR teams and application analysts.

The position requires an Information Technology degree or diploma, 5+ years in SQL/Oracle/RDBMS, and familiarity with Windows/Linux servers and automation scripting.

Qualifications

  • Information Technology Degree or Diploma or equivalent education / work experience required.
  • 5+ years of SQL, Oracle, and/or other RDBMS DBA experience (healthcare preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of Enterprise RDBMS platforms (e.g., SQL, Oracle).
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration and automation scripting (PowerShell or similar).

Responsibilities

  • Support database design, creation, testing, and maintenance, including backups and archiving.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain RDBMS platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.).
  • Monitor database performance, capacity, and storage growth; manage security and encryption.
  • Implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions; perform DR testing.
  • Triage database-related issues impacting clinical workflows and collaborate with clinical teams.
  • Work with EMR and clinical applications during upgrades and releases; on-call support (24/7).
