Job description
About Vitalis Health Strategies

Vitalis Health Strategies is growing!

Vitalis Health Strategies is a physician‑led healthcare consulting and advisory firm supporting private medical, surgical, and multidisciplinary practices across Canada. We work closely with clinic owners, medical directors, and leadership teams to improve operations, financial performance, governance, and long‑term strategic growth.

Our work is practical and embedded. We operate within the real constraints of the Canadian healthcare system and focus on helping clinics function better, grow responsibly, and make sound business decisions.

Role Overview

The Healthcare Consultant will support multiple client engagements across private healthcare practices, working closely with senior Vitalis consultants and physician leaders. The role is split between client‑facing consulting execution and business development support. On the consulting side, the Consultant will help deliver operational, financial, and strategic workstreams for clients. On the business development side, the Consultant will support outreach, relationship management, proposal development, and early‑stage client engagement activities. This is a hands‑on, team‑based role focused on execution, coordination, and building strong client relationships.

The ideal candidate has strong business fundamentals, understands how healthcare clinics actually run, and is comfortable moving between analysis, documentation, and hands‑on operational support. This role is well suited for candidates transitioning from healthcare operations, clinic management, or analytical business roles into consulting.

Key Responsibilities
Client & Engagement Support
  • Support multiple client accounts in parallel under the direction of senior Vitalis consultants
  • Prepare materials for client meetings, working sessions, and follow‑ups
  • Track action items, deliverables, and timelines across engagements
  • Support ongoing client communication, documentation, and coordination
Business Development & Growth
  • Support and drive business development initiatives alongside senior Vitalis leadership, including outreach, relationship‑building, and structured follow‑up with prospective clients
  • Assist with preparation of proposals, scopes of work, and engagement materials
  • Participate in introductory calls, meetings, and exploratory discussions with clinics and healthcare organizations
  • Help identify opportunities for expanded services within existing client accounts
  • Maintain organized records of prospects, conversations, and opportunities in internal systems
Operations & Practice
  • Assist with reviews of clinic operations, workflows, staffing models, and patient flow
  • Support development and refinement of SOPs, policies, and operational tools
  • Contribute to clinic build, expansion, and optimization initiatives
  • Assist with implementation of operational and process changes
Finance & Analytical Support
  • Support financial analysis including revenue cycles, overhead structures, and cost drivers
  • Help prepare financial summaries and stakeholder‑ or lender‑facing materials
  • Support analysis related to pricing, compensation, and productivity metrics
  • Support strategic planning and growth initiatives for clinics and healthcare businesses
  • Contribute to acquisition, partnership, and due diligence projects
  • Help synthesize findings into clear, practical recommendations for clients
  • Prepare clear, well‑structured client deliverables, analyses, and presentations
  • Maintain organized project documentation and internal records
  • Contribute to internal templates, tools, and knowledge development
Education & Experience
  • Undergraduate degree in business, commerce, economics, health administration, or a related field
  • Practical work experience in one or more of the following:
    • Healthcare operations or clinic management
    • Practice administration or healthcare leadership support roles
    • Business, finance, analytics, or consulting environments
    • Experience supporting projects, analyses, or initiatives under senior leadership
    • Exposure to private healthcare environments (medical clinics, surgical centres, multidisciplinary practices) is a strong asset
    • Advanced degrees (MBA, MSc., MHA, etc.) are considered an asset but are not required. Equivalent practical experience is valued.
What We’re Looking For
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian healthcare system, particularly private clinics and their interaction with public funding and regulation
  • Solid business fundamentals and comfort working with financial and operational information
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and written communication skills
  • Detail‑oriented, dependable, and comfortable supporting senior consultants and physicians
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a client‑facing environment
  • Interest in healthcare systems, practice management, and the business side of medicine
Why Join Vitalis
  • Be part of an exceptional growing consulting group with future growth potential
  • Competitive compensation aligned with experience, responsibility, and performance.
  • Hands‑on consulting exposure across operations, finance, governance, and growth in real healthcare settings.
  • Direct access to physician‑leaders and clinic owners, with insight into executive decision‑making.
  • Structured mentorship and clear growth pathway into senior consulting or advisory roles.
