About the Opportunity

The Health Support Aide has an important role within the Department and is responsible for helping with daily routines of care and to support patients/clients with activities of daily living. The role may include: the provision of basic care (comforts), specimen collection and other support functions under the guidance and direction of licensed health care professionals.

About You
  • Grade 12
  • Previous related experience or related education would be an asset
  • Knowledge of infection control procedures an asset
  • Previous hospital experience preferred
  • Current BCLS
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention preferred
  • Relevant first aid, first responder training e.g. St. John Ambulance course, HS lifeguard certificate, an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with patients/clients, hospital staff, public and referral sources
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
