Overview

We are seeking an exceptional candidate to fill the position of Health, Safety & Claims Assistant! Apply now and join our team!

About You

You have a great customer service experience with a keen eye for detail. You will be an integral part of the Health, Safety & Claims Department and will interact with all levels of the organization to expedite claim resolution, including completion of claims reviews to validate the accuracy and validity of reports.

Direct Report

Reporting to the Health, Safety, & Claims Manager, the Health, Safety, & Claims Assistant is responsible for completing investigations/documentations within a tight deadline, including support in the process of documentation and auditing the Health & Safety program compliance. Investigation of drivers and customers must always be conducted with confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate, adjust, and process claims and payments as assigned
  • Processing claims includes taking photos of all vehicles involved in the incident, booking vehicles for repairs, completing body shop files, processing accident payments, etc.
  • Interview drivers regarding the incident.
  • Develop effective working relationships with external clients, management, and all levels of the organization to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Communicate with other departments on the status of equipment and credits from incidents.
  • Complete reviews of drivers’ driving history.
  • Respond to drivers’ questions and requests for experience letters.
  • Booking of body shop work and parts shop.
  • Review and maintain DCPD & Claims reports.
  • Document and follow division policies and procedures.
  • Provide administrative support within the department and to the Health, Safety, & Claims Manager.
  • Participate in education, training, and meetings with fleet drivers.
  • Ongoing review & updating of health & safety documents.
  • Support in the COR Audit processes & documentation.
  • Review & Revise hazard assessment as needed.
  • Assist the Health, Safety, & Claims Manager in program administration.
  • Participation & leading by example in all safety company programs.
  • And other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Competencies
  • Attention to detail with the ability to analyze and understand complex claim-related documents and activities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • A team player who is focused on providing exceptional service and a customer-focused attitude with the ability to take direction, work independently, and work well with others.
  • Must be able to prioritize and multitask, including being able to remain flexible in continually changing and fast-paced situations.
  • Ability to work with time constraints in a complex environment.
  • Possess advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively manage issues.
  • COR Program knowledge is an asset
  • Strong and professional communication skills
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in reviewing/administering claims is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation is a requirement.
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent with a background in insurance experience preferred.
Working Conditions/Hours

The candidate will be required to walk around vehicles outside in any weather and inside the garage. The candidate will also be called to the garage to review repairs.

Monday to Friday, 8 am – 4:30 pm.
