Job description
Description

Our client is hiring for their Project which is a 16‑km elevated extension of the Expo Line. It’s being delivered under a Project Labour Agreement (PLA), with multiple contractor teams handling civil, structural, and systems scopes.

Precast segment fabrication at a dedicated 30‑acre yard in Campbell Heights.

Elevated guideway construction using large gantry cranes.

Utility relocations, roadworks, and active transportation infrastructure.

The precast yard is producing over 5,000 concrete segments. These are cast, stored, and staged onsite, then transported and installed along the alignment using gantry cranes like the Fleetwood Flyer, Langley Launcher, and Clayton Clipper. The yard includes a batch plant, steel fabrication building, and rail‑mounted cranes, and will remain active through summer 2027. Early morning operations and off‑hour deliveries are approved to maintain schedule.

SkyLink’s scope is high‑impact and fast‑paced. Guideway work is one of the most visible and technically demanding parts of the project.

Key Duties – Safety Advisor
  • Support safe execution of precast fabrication, segment handling, and elevated guideway installation.
  • Conduct daily site inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits across yard and field operations.

  • Deliver toolbox talks, orientations, and training sessions for trades and subcontractors.
  • Monitor compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and internal safety protocols.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns; document findings and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with field supervisors, subcontractors, and project managers to reinforce safe work practices.
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation and reporting systems.
