Agropur in Granby, Canada, seeks a Safety Advisor to join a dynamic team focused on a strong Health & Safety culture. Based at the Granby site, you will drive H&S programs, lead incident investigations, and coach staff to meet safety targets.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop a strong preventive culture where H&S is a core value.
• Lead deployment of the Agropur Health & Safety Management System and site programs.
• Coach teams to achieve H&S targets and reduce risks.
• Support annual site plans and monitor leading indicators.
• Facilitate incident investigations to identify root causes.
• Participate in audits, regulatory reviews and inspections.
• Join JHSC and safety committees as required.
• Provide guidance for major H&S programs across the site.

‘What you’ll be responsible for each day:’

Reporting to the Regional Safety Manager, the Safety Advisor is responsible for the following. This role offers the opportunity to join an organization in full transformation, where Health & Safety is at the core of decision-making. Based at the Granby site, you will be part of a highly dynamic and collaborative team and will be invited to take on stimulating challenges to strengthen a strong and sustainable safety culture.

• Develop a strong preventive culture where Health & Safety is recognized as a core value that is never compromised;

• Lead the deployment of the Agropur Health & Safety Management System, including site programs and tools;

• Influence, coach, and guide teams to achieve Health & Safety performance targets, reduce risks, and ensure execution of H&S fundamentals:

• Support the site in developing annual plans aligned with established priorities;

• Support, coach, and monitor leading indicators (H&S fundamentals and key preventive activities);

• Drive improvement of safety performance and recommend actions to achieve site objectives;

• Facilitate and coach incident investigations to identify root causes and eliminate risks and hazards;

• Support the site in defining, tracking, and closing actions resulting from audits, regulatory reviews, and investigations;

• Actively participate in Gemba walks and site Health & Safety inspections;

• Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly operational reviews;

• Lead and/or actively participate in the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) and sub-committees as required;

• Coordinate and support the development of Health & Safety competencies across the site;

• Provide guidance and technical expertise to ensure the effective implementation of major H&S programs;

• Act as a coach and trusted partner for all plant personnel.

‘The individual who will own this role’

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field;
• 3–5 years of experience in Health & Safety, preferably in a manufacturing environment;
• Strong knowledge of H&S regulations and best practices;
