Job summary

Winnipeg Regional Health Authority at Victoria General Hospital, Unit 4 North, seeks a Health Care Assistant to join our clinical team. The role is in-person with a 0.70 FTE allocation and 7.75 daily hours, supporting patient care in a busy hospital unit.

Ideal candidates have Grade XII, completed HCA training or are in a nursing program, CPR and BCLS where required, and strong English communication. Training and compliance with safety standards are priorities.

Qualifications

• Completion of recognized Health Care Assistant course or enrollment in a University Nursing Program and having completed year two.
• Current CPR and Basic Life Support are required for designated areas.
• Demonstrated ability to use appropriate body mechanics and transfer techniques.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.

• Completed Grade XII or equivalent required.
• Completion of recognized Health Care Assistant course required or currently enrolled in a University Nursing Program and having completed year two (2).
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support is required for positions in Emergency, Intensive Care and Central Relief Team.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
