Job summary

Shared Health-Soins Communs is seeking a Health Care Aide to support resident care in Betel Home Foundation facilities. The candidate will assist with personal care under RN/LPN supervision, follow the nursing process, and contribute to a respectful, collaborative care team.

The role requires a Health Care Aide course, Grade 10 education, and the ability to communicate effectively in English. A satisfactory criminal record check and abuse registries are required as conditions of employment.

Job description

Directly accountable to the Direction of Resident Care and under the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Practical Nurse, the Health Care Aide acts as a member of the health care team and is responsible for performing and assisting with duties related to meeting resident personal needs in accordance with established policies and procedures. The Health Care Aide must be able to function effectively in a dynamic and demanding environment utilizing nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.

The position of Health Care Aide functions in a manner consistent with, and supports the mission, vision and values of Betel Home Foundation.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 10 education and approved Health Care Aide Course.
• Previous experience in a related position is an asset but not essential. On-the-job training is provided.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written communication.
• Demonstrates interpersonal skills through clear communication and positive behavior within the Respectful Workplace Policy
