Job summary

Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg, MB, is seeking a Health Care Aide (HCA) to support patient/resident care under supervision of the nursing team. You will assist with daily care tasks, help maintain a safe and clean environment, and communicate effectively with patients and staff.

Qualifications include a Grade 12 education and a Health Care Aide Certificate. CPR and BCLS certifications are required where applicable, with annual recertification as needed.

Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Clinical Manager, the Registered Nurse (RN), the Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), and/or the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), the Health Care Aide (HCA) acts as a member of the health care team, assisting with patient/resident care and providing basic supportive care as directed.

Experience

• Recent patient care experience (in the last 4 years) required or equivalent will be considered.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

• Grade 12 education or equivalent.
• Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized college/educational institution required.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) is required for positions in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Urgent Care with recertification required annually. Certification must be obtained within 2 months of acquiring the position.
