Position Summary

The Mobile Withdrawal Management Service (MWMS) is a Program offered at Klinic Community Health where Klinic will provide medically supported non‑residential withdrawal services and stabilization supports to clients. The Program is for individuals 18 years and older for a period of 30 days. Services will be delivered within the boundaries of the City of Winnipeg and the Rural Municipalities of West St. Paul and East St. Paul.

Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in the social sciences or equivalent experience
  • Minimum two years supervised social services experience
  • Minimum of two years experience working in substance use and mental health which may include working with clients with complex needs substance use / dependence and complex behaviors
  • Thorough understanding of issues related to addictions
  • Hold a Core Addiction Practices certificate or have an equivalent education and training experience in substance use
  • Have knowledge of the bio‑psychosocial and spiritual model of care and best practices for co‑occurring disorder. This knowledge will include stages of change harm reduction approaches motivational interviewing and hope‑inducing strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to work with clients and their families with serious and persistent substance use mental disorders or both
  • Demonstrated knowledge of community mental health and substance use system resources to enable the transfer care of clients to alternate services as required based on a clients clinical needs
  • Demonstrated competence in risk and clinical assessment
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrated decision making abilities
  • Proven ability to promote team and program functioning
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle required
  • Awareness of and sensitive to issues of cultural diversity

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for assessing clients physical and psychological status during intoxication withdrawal and stabilization
  • Perform client admission and discharge
  • Monitor and document changes in client status and reports changes to designated nursing staff as required
  • Interview clients and identify needs assist clients to determine appropriate services facilitates referrals and linkages to identified supports and participates in case planning with client and Team
  • Support client wellness and recovery in a collaborative team approach
  • Provide support and guidance to clients and families
  • Link clients with appropriate community resources
  • Participate in program development
  • Liaise with community resources and service organizations
  • Work as part of a team and promote team functioning
  • Assist in the development of resource material
  • Charts appropriately according to Klinic Policies
  • Assists volunteers and students
  • Participate in community development activities
  • Provide public education and training activities as requested
  • Perform program intake and participates in the program intake review process
Other
  • Participates in training courses and in services offered elsewhere and by Klinic in order to maintain and improve quality of service
  • Attend staff meetings as required
  • Participates in program planning evaluation and quality monitoring including completing daily statistics
  • Participate in formal self‑evaluations by identifying strengths and limitations
  • Seek appropriate supervision / consultation of own actions
  • Adheres to all agency policies protocols and promotes best practice
  • Perform other duties and functions related to their job description not exceeding above stated capacities

Salary Range

$40.536 - $52.900 per hour
