Job Summary

How you will make an impact: You will be responsible for assisting the Restaurant Manager with the supervision of service in the dining service areas.

Responsibilities
  • Promptly and warmly greet guests and accompanies them to their tables based on availability or desired seating arrangements. Oversee guest flow within the restaurant.
  • Manage the reservations system.
  • Promote an overall enjoyable dining experience; promote a clean, safe and neat environment for guests and associates.
  • Advise guests on menu and beverage selections.
  • Liaise between kitchen staff and dining room staff.
  • Supervise the activities of food-service associates in the dining room to ensure proper customer service, food handling and sanitation procedures are followed.
  • Help train new food-service team members and provide ongoing customer-service training.
  • Supervise the closing of the assigned dining room; ensure servers complete side work and station setup
About you
  • You must have a valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent
  • Proven work experience as a Waiter or Waitress
  • Supervisory experience is an asset
  • Hands-on experience with cash register and ordering information system (e.g. Revel POS or Toast POS)
  • Attentiveness and patience for customers
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
  • Active listening and effective communication skills
