The Opportunity

PCS invites applications for Head of School (Superintendent) to lead our next season of growth and faithful presence. The Head of School serves as the chief executive and chief educator, reporting to the Board of Directors of the Victoria Christian Education Society, and leading a capable team to advance mission, learning, and community.

The successful candidate will be a Christ-centred, relational, and strategic leader who can:

  • Champion our Guiding Educational Principles across curriculum, culture, and community life.
  • Sustain academic excellence while deepening Christian faith formation and belonging.
  • Strengthen partnerships with families, churches, and the wider community.
  • Steward people, finances, and facilities with wisdom and transparency.
  • Lead with humility, courage, and hope.
Key Responsibilities
  • Mission & Culture: Guard and advance the Christian mission; cultivate a culture of belonging, grace, and joyful discipleship that calls students and staff to growth in Christ.
  • Learning & Leadership: Lead academic and spiritual formation initiatives that promote excellence and continuous improvement; coach and empower leaders and teachers toward professional and pedagogical growth.
  • Strategic Growth & Innovation: Lead with creativity and courage to identify and pursue opportunities for sustainable growth in enrollment, programming, and partnerships. Encourage thoughtful innovation that aligns with PCS’s mission and Guiding Educational Principles, exploring new directions in Christian education and expanded learning pathways that strengthen the school’s reach, vitality, and long‑term impact.
  • People & Community: Build and empower a capable, mission‑driven team; deepen engagement with students, families, alumni, and the wider Christian community.
  • Operational Stewardship: Oversee finances, facilities, and systems with transparency and foresight, ensuring resources support growth and mission effectiveness.
  • Governance Partnership: Collaborate with the Board in advancing strategic priorities, providing insight and leadership that balance innovation with institutional stability.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Graduate degree in education, leadership, or a related field (M.Ed., M.A., or equivalent; doctoral work an asset).
  • Eligible for or currently holding British Columbia Teacher Certification.
  • Significant school leadership experience (principal/vice‑principal or system-level); K–12 Christian school context preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in instructional leadership, staff development, and organizational management.
  • Familiarity with the Professional Standards for BC Educators and independent‑school regulations in BC (SCSBC/FISA BC context an asset).
  • Ability to work effectively with a non‑profit board within a policy‑governance framework.
  • Strength in communication, financial literacy, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Salary: $140,000 – $160,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
