Role overview

We are looking for a highly skilled professional with great passion for sales & business development. You will be responsible for the Sales Organization and Partnerships outside of Ontario at Carlsberg Canada including Off- & On-premises channels, managing a team of professionals across key accounts, field sales and 3rd party partners. You will ensure that our portfolio in the Beer, Cider and RTD categories will flourish in the years to come – for the benefit of consumers, customers and Carlsberg. You will take great responsibility in setting the team up for success in Western Canada, Quebec and the Atlantic. What you’ll be doing

The role as Head of Sales Provinces & Partnerships involves a great deal of commercial responsibility at the strategic, tactical and operational level. In addition, it requires strong leadership skills. Success will be measured in terms of financial performance, customer satisfaction and people engagement.

Responsibilities
  • Development, optimization, and execution of the Sales strategy
  • Ensuring a strong link between all sales and marketing activities
  • Being accountable for the Western Canada, Quebec, and Atlantic P&Ls
  • Take the lead for Route-to-market, Sales, and Execution strategy within those provinces.
  • Embed a strong performance management culture.
  • Take the lead in driving a smooth commercial process incl. annual planning and budget process.
  • Take the lead in customer negotiations and strong execution of agreements.
  • Lead and set the organization up for success.

Above all, you are a role-model in great leadership, commercial mindset and the way you catch opportunities and solve challenges. You like to be strongly involved in operations and holds a hands‑on attitude – and show best practice on how to do things.

Qualifications

The position requires you to thrive in a high-paced environment solving exciting and complex opportunities and challenges. To be successful you need to be able to operate at both strategic, tactical and operational level. You will have many stakeholders internally and externally, which require you to demonstrate overview, collaboration and prioritization. You will need strong communication skills – both verbally and written.

In addition, we expect:

  • You have progressed throughout your career in Sales, Marketing and Business Development functions in various roles over the past +7 years. You have in-depth knowledge of the sales function and route-to-market strategies combined with a strong knowledge of brand and trade marketing.
  • You have a clear picture of success in how to run a Sales function.
  • You have a strong track record within Fast Moving Consumer Goods. Preferably you have strong relations to buyers within the beer/RTD category.
  • Strong track record of driving sales through partners and 3rd parties
  • You are analytical, data- and insight-driven and very strong with numbers.
  • You are a strategic thinker and can make clear strategic and simple plans in a complex environment.
  • You are passionate of consumers and customers.
  • You have a strong focus on execution of strategy plans and in following up on it.
  • You are a strong negotiator, and you know the discipline of value management in-depth.
  • You lead by example, is clear in your communication and drive highly engaged teams.
  • You are good at creating strong and lasting relationships.
What we’re looking for
  • Ontario-based – to work out of Oakville office.
  • Strong character with high competence peers in the industry
  • Recent experience with beer (or RTD) in Canada a big plus.
  • Strong relation within the FMCG industry – Strong relations to category buyers (beer/RTD)
  • History of driving sales performance through partners/ 3rd parties
  • Structured, analytical, high drive, dynamic, and a “do’er” – that can operate strategically, tactically and operationally. Likes to get into the details to understand and improve.
  • Very good with numbers and is a proven communicator both written (presentations) and verbally.
  • Business Development mindset / continuous improvement
  • Bilingual (French as a second language) preferred.
  • Able to travel 10-25% of the time.
