R-LABS Canada Inc. is looking for a Head of Revenue in Toronto, focusing on helping early-stage ventures achieve commercial success. You will guide innovative companies through defining go-to-market strategies, building relationships, and supporting sales initiatives to generate revenue. This role demands an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong track record in commercialization.
The ideal candidate has significant experience in enterprise sales, navigating ambiguity, and an understanding of sectors connected to the built environment. Compensation ranges from $130,000 to $160,000 per annum, with significant variable compensation based on achieved milestones.
R-LABS is Canada’s real estate and housing venture builder, bringing together innovative corporations, institutional partners, and game-changing entrepreneurs to address critical challenges across the built environment. Through our proprietary venture building platform, we co-create, launch, and scale technology-enabled companies and new business models across areas such as housing affordability, climate resilience, construction innovation, energy systems, property intelligence, and infrastructure.
Reporting to the Managing Director, Capital & Corporate Development, we are hiring a Head of Revenue to help early‑stage ventures move from validation to commercial adoption. Working directly with founders and CEOs across multiple R‑LABS co‑created companies, you will act as a strategic and hands‑on commercialization partner, helping define go‑to‑market strategies, define positioning, identify target customers and partnerships, and support the sales approach needed to generate early traction. You will play a critical role in helping founders navigate the realities of bringing evolving technology solutions to market by opening doors, building and activating relationships, supporting enterprise sales conversations, and helping ventures establish sustainable revenue foundations across the built environment ecosystem.
This role is based full‑time in our downtown Toronto office. Given the hands‑on, multi‑venture nature of the role, daily collaboration with founders, venture teams, and R‑LABS leadership is integral to success – in‑person presence accelerates the relationship‑building and commercialization work at the heart of this position.
You are a commercially minded and entrepreneurial revenue leader who knows how to build momentum in environments where there is no established playbook. You may come from a venture‑backed startup, venture studio, emerging technology company, boutique advisory environment, or highly entrepreneurial sales organization where success depended on creativity, persistence, adaptability, and the ability to create traction without the support of an established brand. You are comfortable operating at the early stages of a company, in ambiguity, balancing strategic thinking with execution, and adapting your approach as products, customer feedback, and market opportunities evolve. Exposure to sectors connected to the built environment – including real estate, financial services, insurance, infrastructure, construction, climate, energy, or adjacent technology ecosystems – is highly valuable. Most importantly, you are resourceful, commercially curious, and energized by helping innovative companies grow from early‑stage concepts into viable businesses.
Impact.
You want to play a meaningful role in helping early‑stage ventures move from concept to commercial success. Working directly with seasoned founders and CEOs across multiple R‑LABS co‑created companies, you will help shape go‑to‑market strategies, refine commercialization approaches, and support ventures as they secure their first meaningful customers and revenue streams. Your work will directly influence how innovative technologies are introduced, adopted, and scaled across industries connected to the built environment, including real estate, financial services, insurance, infrastructure, and climate resilience.
Ownership.
You want the opportunity to build, influence, and operate at both a strategic and executional level. This is not a role where you inherit a mature playbook or established sales engine. You will help create the commercialization strategy, identify opportunities, open doors, build relationships, and support founders through complex sales conversations and partnership discussions. You will work across multiple ventures simultaneously, bringing structure, creativity, and commercial thinking to businesses that are still evolving in real time.
Career development.
You are excited by the opportunity to work at the intersection of venture building, innovation, commercialization, and industry transformation. At R‑LABS, you will collaborate with experienced founders, institutional partners, and a deeply connected ecosystem that has been built over years of industry engagement. You will gain exposure to a broad range of emerging technologies, business models, and sectors while expanding your strategic, operational, and relationship‑building capabilities. This is an opportunity to grow your impact, broaden your commercial expertise, and help shape ventures tackling some of the biggest challenges facing the built environment today.
At R‑LABS, we recognize the value of entrepreneurial thinking, commercialization expertise, and the ability to help emerging ventures build meaningful market traction. For this role, the base salary range is between $130,000 – $160,000 per annum, with an expected OTE of over $250,000 in Year 1, based on commercialization milestones achieved across the R‑LABS portfolio. Variable compensation is milestone‑driven, tied to revenue traction at our co‑created ventures, and reviewed annually alongside base salary. Compensation will reflect the experience, industry exposure, relationship‑building capabilities, and commercialization expertise each candidate brings to the role.
We are committed to fair, transparent, and thoughtful compensation practices that recognize both impact and growth potential. We welcome open conversations throughout the hiring process about compensation structure, expectations, and long‑term opportunity.
We welcome and appreciate candidates with a range of backgrounds and experiences, including women, persons with disabilities, Black, Indigenous and People of Colour (BIPOC), the LGBTQ2SIA+ community, and other equity‑seeking groups.
