Oetiker Group seeks an experienced Manager, Product & Process Engineering to lead our Product & Process Engineering team in supporting high-volume manufacturing operations.

You will oversee product and process engineering activities, drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage engineering resources, and ensure technical excellence across production support, tooling, product design changes, and process optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline required.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in high-volume manufacturing.
• Proven leadership and people management experience.
• Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with CAD and manufacturing processes for metals/plastics.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the Product & Process Engineering team for safe, efficient manufacturing.
• Provide strategic direction for engineering activities and performance metrics.
• Partner with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Production to optimize processes.
• Oversee tooling, fixtures, and processes to support production needs and growth.
• Manage projects from concept to implementation within timelines and budgets.
• Lead capacity planning to support current and future demand.
• Review and approve product/process changes for manufacturability and quality.
• Provide technical leadership for new product introductions and validations.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for issues and non-conformances.
• Champion continuous improvement for quality, cost, and efficiency.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Manager, Product & Process Engineering (PPE) to lead our engineering team in supporting high-volume manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for overseeing product and process engineering activities, driving continuous improvement initiatives, managing engineering resources, and ensuring technical excellence across production support, tooling, product design changes, and process optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the Product & Process Engineering team to support safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations.
• Provide strategic direction for engineering activities, including resource planning, departmental objectives, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Production teams to optimize manufacturing processes, improve productivity, and reduce waste.
• Oversee the design, development, and implementation of tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing processes to support production requirements and business growth.
• Manage engineering projects from concept through implementation, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality requirements are achieved.
• Lead capacity planning activities to ensure equipment, tooling, and engineering resources support current and future customer demand.
• Review and approve product and process changes, ensuring technical feasibility, manufacturability, quality standards, and customer requirements are met.
• Provide technical leadership for new product introductions, product modifications, and process validation activities.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective action efforts to address production issues, quality concerns, and non-conformances.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, cost reduction, efficiency, and overall operational performance.
• Establish and maintain engineering standards, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistency, compliance, and operational excellence.
• Support annual budgeting and capital planning activities, including the identification and justification of equipment, tooling, and process improvement investments

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Proven leadership and people management experience.
• Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of tooling and die design, GD&T, and manufacturing processes for metals and plastics.
• Experience with CAD software (preferably SolidWorks) and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
