About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Head Coffee Roaster with 7+ years of specialty coffee

roasting expertise to lead our roasting operations. This individual will be responsible for

managing the entire coffee lifecycle—from green coffee sourcing, roast profile development, and

production roasting, through to packing, quality assurance, and shipping. The role requires deep

technical knowledge, strong leadership, and a passion for quality and consistency.

Forecast Coffee originated in 2020, with its ownerships’ first cafes dating back to 2016. We've

grown our cafe presence to six locations currently, with another 4 underway in the next 12

months, and further identified each year thereafter. We are expanding our online e-commerce

presence and are stepping into wholesale distribution to grocery and would like to continue to

expand our presence in cafes and other coffee serving companies.

We have an exciting vision for our future and are looking for a Head Coffee Roaster to build and

enhance and coffee roasting program, establishing us as one of B.C.'s most recognizable specialty

coffee roaster.

Key Responsibilities
  • Green Coffee Sourcing: Collaborate with importers and producers to source high quality, sustainable green coffee aligned with company values.
  • Profile Development: Create and refine roast profiles that highlight the unique characteristics of each coffee.
  • Production Roasting: Lead and oversee daily roasting operations, ensuring consistency and efficiency across batches.
  • Quality Control: Maintain rigorous cupping and evaluation protocols to ensure product quality.
  • Team Leadership: Train and supervise future roasting and production staff, instilling best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Inventory & Logistics: Manage green and roasted coffee inventory, packing processes, and fulfillment/shipping operations.
  • Equipment Management: Maintain and troubleshoot roasting equipment to ensure peak performance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with café, wholesale, and operations teams to align production with demand and brand standards.

  • 7+ years of experience in specialty coffee roasting, with demonstrated leadership in a roasting operation.
  • Deep knowledge of green coffee sourcing, roast profile development, and production workflows.
  • Proven ability to operate and maintain commercial roasting equipment.
  • Strong sensory skills and ability to lead structured cuppings and related events in café.
  • Organizational and inventory management expertise. Excellent communication and leadership skills
