Job summary

A governmental food service organization in Georgina, Ontario is seeking an experienced Head Chef to manage kitchen operations, supervise staff, and ensure quality food preparation.   • Experience supervising kitchen staff and managing food costs.
  • Ability to demonstrate cooking techniques and instruct cooks.

Responsibilities

  • Estimate amount and costs of supplies and food items.
  • Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory.
  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff.
  • Supervise activities of chefs and kitchen workers.
  • Instruct cooks in food preparation and presentation.
  • Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods.
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies.
  • Train staff in cooking and food handling.
