A regional educational institution is seeking two temporary, full-time instructors for its Practical Nursing Program in Fort St. John, BC, starting April 2026. Ideal candidates will have a Nursing diploma or degree and experience in Canadian healthcare. The position requires excellent communication and teaching skills to guide students in community care settings. This role also emphasizes collaboration and cultural safety in education.

Reporting to: Dean of Health Sciences & Human Services
$45.60 - $56.75/hr, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional 2% in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation pay and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay. The period of campus closure that occurs between Christmas and New Year\'s Day is unpaid time.
Northern Lights College\'s Practical Nursing Program is seeking two temporary, full-time instructors to deliver HCAT 126 Clinical Instructor: Practice Experience in Multi-Level and/or Complex Care 1. This practice course provides students with an opportunity to apply knowledge and skills from all other courses with individuals and families in a community setting. Opportunity will be provided for students under a mentor to become more familiar with the role of the HCA within a Home Support Agency, Assisted Living Facility, and/or a Group Home, and to gain abilities that will prepare graduates for employment in these settings. It is important that students understand the philosophy of community care settings and its emphasis on client choice and independence.
As a member of the Health Sciences Department, you will be part of a collaborative and supportive instructional team. You are expected to pursue excellence in teaching by incorporating diverse instructional strategies and fostering a learning environment rooted in inquiry, reflection, and evidence-informed practice.
