Job summary

WSP is seeking a Hazardous Materials & Occupational Hygiene Technician to support clients across the GTA and Ontario. You will manage hazardous materials, protect worker health, and help create safer workplaces in a flexible hybrid environment.

Join a multidisciplinary team of hygienists and environmental specialists, travel to project sites, and apply regulatory requirements in practical settings while contributing to project success and safety culture.

Qualifications

• Completion of a college diploma or university degree in occupational hygiene, environmental science, environmental engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Experience in consulting or relevant education in occupational hygiene, environmental science, construction, or a related field, with ongoing learning.
• Understanding of Ontario health and safety and environmental legislation with regulatory application.

Responsibilities

• Support clients in maintaining compliance with occupational health, safety, construction, and environmental regulations by conducting field assessments, monitoring programs, and maintaining clear documentation.
• Conduct building assessments for hazardous materials and designated substances, collecting representative samples from building materials.
• Provide on-site inspection and oversight during hazardous materials remediation projects, including contractor monitoring, air sampling, and reporting.
