What you’ll do
  • Support the design, verification, and deployment‑to‑manufacturing of new hardware and system designs.
  • Support and enhance existing hardware and system designs across the full development lifecycle.
  • Analyze requirements, research and identify technical solutions, and develop robust hardware designs.
  • Generate complete and accurate user documentation and design documentation packages.
  • Generate, review, and execute verification test plans to ensure compliance and performance.
  • Work onsite in Ottawa, ON, with travel to external labs for compliance testing.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to brainstorm, review, and refine system‑level hardware concepts.
What you’ll need to get the job done
  • 3 + Years of design and verification experience with MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-704, and/or DO-160 standards.
  • Strong debug and problem‑solving skills applied to complex hardware and system issues.
  • Understanding of design impacts across electrical, mechanical, software, and manufacturing disciplines.
  • Linux and Windows power‑user capability, comfortable navigating system‑level tools and workflows.
  • Experience with Python or other scripting/automation tools.
  • A driven and motivated self‑starter with a strong desire to learn and grow.
  • Solid understanding of electronics principles and their real‑world application in embedded and ruggedized systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross‑team coordination and documentation.
  • Experience supporting compliance testing activities in external accredited labs (EMC/EMI, electrical, environmental).
