Job summary

Royal York Property Management is seeking dependable Handyworkers to perform general residential maintenance, repair tasks, and property inspections across Ontario. You’ll work independently, visiting rental properties with a mobile app to manage appointments and document work completed.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of handyman or property maintenance experience, own tools and a vehicle, and can communicate in basic English.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of paid handyman, property maintenance, construction, renovation, or related experience.
• Ability to complete common residential maintenance tasks independently.
• Must have own reliable vehicle and tools/equipment.
• Basic English communication and GPS-enabled work updates.

Responsibilities

• Complete general residential maintenance and repair work.
• Perform property inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Install and remove lockboxes.
• Replace HVAC filters and complete routine maintenance tasks.
• Repair doors, locks, faucets, toilets, light fixtures, blinds, shelving, hardware, smoke detectors, and other fixtures.
• Assemble and install household items when required.
• Take photos and complete digital inspection reports.
• Report maintenance concerns and recommend repairs.
• Use mobile work app to receive orders, navigate, upload photos, and update statuses.
• Travel between appointments using your own vehicle.

Royal York Property Management is one of Canada’s leading property management companies, managing thousands of residential rental properties across Ontario. We are looking for dependable, skilled Handyworkers to join our growing network of maintenance professionals.

This role involves travelling to residential rental properties to complete a wide variety of maintenance, repair, inspection, and installation tasks. Every day is different, and you’ll work independently while using our mobile work app to manage appointments and update completed work.

What You’ll Do

Complete general residential maintenance and repair work

Perform property inspections and preventative maintenance

Install and remove lockboxes

Replace HVAC filters and complete routine maintenance tasks

Repair doors, locks, faucets, toilets, light fixtures, blinds, shelving, hardware, smoke detectors, and other common residential fixtures

Assemble and install household items when required

Take clear photos and complete digital inspection reports

Report maintenance concerns and recommend additional repairs when necessary

Use our mobile work app to receive work orders, navigate using GPS, upload photos, and update job statuses

Travel between appointments using your own vehicle

Mandatory Requirements

Minimum 2 years of paid handyman, property maintenance, construction, renovation, or related experience

Ability to complete common residential maintenance tasks independently

Must have your own reliable vehicle

Must have your own tools and equipmentrequired for general maintenance work

Must have your own suitable smartphone capable of using GPS, work apps, taking photos, and submitting job updates

Basic English communication skills

Reliable, punctual, and comfortable with GPS-confirmed appointments

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in residential property maintenance

Experience completing inspections and documenting repairs

Broad knowledge of common household maintenance and repairs

Ability to identify maintenance issues before they become larger problems
