Job summary

The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is hiring an Apprentice - Handyperson for its Night Shift Trades. You will train under a licensed Handyperson, performing maintenance on building structures and properties, with a view to becoming a Handyperson in wage group 8.

This is a full-time night shift role with Fridays and Saturdays off. The program includes extensive certification requirements, including terrazzo repair, cement finishing, and vehicle operation training.

Qualifications

• Must have completed Grade 10 and be able to perform basic math.
• Valid non-probationary Ontario Class G or higher driver’s license.
• Willing to complete the Cement Finisher apprenticeship program and related certifications.

Responsibilities

• Follow a training program with progressively more complex maintenance tasks.
• Carry out concrete finishing, roof repairs, fence installation, and related repairs.
• Operate a truck to transport crew and parts; may operate a skid steer loader.
• Work within a crew and uphold respectful and accessible service to all passengers and employees.
