Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Handyman role located in Calgary, AB. The Handyman is responsible for performing a variety of general repair, maintenance, and renovation tasks in residential properties, such as minor carpentry, drywall repair, painting, flooring installation, fixture replacement, and basic plumbing and electrical work within scope of certification. Day-to-day activities include assessing work requirements, sourcing materials, completing repairs to company standards, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The role involves communicating with supervisors and clients, providing updates on project progress, and ensuring all work complies with safety regulations and company guidelines. The Handyman may also assist with project setup and cleanup, small demolition tasks, and coordination with other trades as needed.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in general residential maintenance and repairs, including basic carpentry, drywall, painting, and flooring work.


• Working knowledge of minor plumbing and electrical tasks within applicable codes and personal certification or licensing.


• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively, with a strong focus on workplace safety and PPE use.


• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to assess issues and propose practical repair solutions.


• Good communication and customer service skills, including the ability to explain work clearly and interact respectfully with clients and team members.


• Strong time management and organization skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.


• Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and working in varied indoor and outdoor conditions.


• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites within the Calgary area.


• Prior experience in renovations or construction; relevant trades training or certification is an asset.
