Job summary

Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) is seeking a Gym Attendant to support members of the Canadian Armed Forces, veterans and their families. The role ensures gym facilities are functioning and supervised, while delivering courteous, safety-oriented service to clients.

Based on the Victoria area in British Columbia, this on-site position involves varied opening, evening and weekend shifts. A high school diploma, CPR/First Aid and cash handling experience are required, with a focus

Qualifications

  • High school diploma is required; relevant experience preferred.
  • Current CPR and Basic First Aid certifications.
  • Cash handling experience.
  • English language proficiency (English Essential).

Responsibilities

  • Assist gym members with equipment and safety.
  • Ensure gym facilities are clean, organized and properly supervised.
  • Process cash transactions and memberships as needed.
  • Provide high-quality client service and support to all patrons.

THE ROLE

Supporting and working alongside the members of the Canadian Armed Forces and actively preparing them to defend and serve our country could be your path to an extremely fulfilling career.

As part of a dynamic and dedicated team, as a Gym attendant, you will have the opportunity to ensure the gym facilities are functioning accordingly and are properly supervised. Daily, you will offer above class client service to our clientele and ensure the safety of our clients to ensure the members of the Canadian Armed Forces can safely and effectively use the gym facilities.

Qualifications Needed
Education, Certifications and Licenses

High school diploma AND some years experience in a related field

(OR An acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience will also be considered)

Experience

Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications

In cash handling

Competencies

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

Other Information

Perform moderate lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing (i.e. more than 10 lbs/4.5 kg but less than 50 lbs/23 kg).

Naden Gym Operational hours: Monday to Thursday 5:30 am to 9:30 pm, Friday 5:30 am to 7 pm, Saturday and Sunday 8am to 6pm.

Scheduled shift will be a variety of Opening (5:15 am – 1 pm), Evening (5:30 pm - 7:15/6:15 or 9:45 pm) and Closing (2:45 pm – 7:15/6:15 or 9:45 pm). Shift hours can be subject to change.
