Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is seeking Guest Attendants in Ottawa to deliver compassionate daily living support to residents. You will assist with basic living activities, personal care, and nutrition while providing companionship and a respectful, resident-centered approach.

Responsibilities include documenting care tasks in an electronic health record and communicating changes to the clinical leads. A current BCLS and First Aid certification are required, along with a successful background check.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work with residents and families with compassion.
• Strong teamwork and customer service orientation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organization and time management abilities.
• Certification in Basic Life Support and First Aid required.
• Vulnerable Sector Check within 6 months or willingness to obtain one.

How YOU make a difference

Guest Attendants support and deliver on all personalized activities of daily living that meet our resident’s needs. This includes basic living support, personal hygiene, companionship and nutritional support.

Guest Attendants are an integral part of our multi-disciplinary team who build trusted relationships with our residents, families and teams with continuous ongoing and effective communication

Our Guest Attendants document the completion of tasks on an electronic health record platform throughout their shift and can quickly identify and communicate changes in resident care needs to our clinical leads.

• Focus on teamwork and customer service with the ability to build trusted relationships
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
• Volunteer/working experience in a Senior Living setting is an asset, not required
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required
• Current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one
