Job summary

Easter Seals Alberta is seeking a Guardianship and Trusteeship Specialist to support Albertans with disabilities. You will educate families, coordinate applications, and collaborate with social workers, legal professionals and government partners to ensure compliant, timely service delivery.

The role emphasizes person-centered care, trauma-informed practices, and culturally responsive service, with in-office duties and a full-time schedule. Training and ongoing development are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years in case management or legal assistant roles with vulnerable populations.
• Experience with Alberta Guardianship and Trusteeship Act is an asset.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with disability services and community supports is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Educate clients and families on Alberta's Adult Guardianship and Trusteeship Act, decision-making options, eligibility and processes.
• Coordinate and manage Guardianship and Trusteeship applications from intake through submission.
• Assist families with desk, hearing, revisions, and court applications.
• Review packages for accuracy, completeness and compliance before submission.
• Coordinate appointments with applicants and required parties.
• Monitor progress and communicate with government departments and families throughout the process.
• Maintain records and ensure privacy and policy compliance.
• Identify trends and opportunities for program improvement.
