Job summary

Porter Airlines Inc. in Toronto (Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport) is seeking an experienced supervisor for the Ground Support Equipment maintenance team.

You will oversee technicians, ensure timely maintenance, interpret drawings, coordinate parts, and uphold safety procedures. The role requires a certified mechanic with supervisory experience, diesel and electrical knowledge, and the ability to work flexible shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be a certified mechanic – Automotive Service Technician 310-S or 310-T.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in GSE or equipment maintenance.
• High school diploma with mechanical/electrical background.
• Minimum of one year of supervisory experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain security clearance.
• Experience with Diesel and welding equipment is an asset.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance; safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the ground support equipment (GSE) shop and technicians.
• Oversee scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on GSE equipment and light vehicles.
• Inspect, test, and operate GSE to confirm serviceability and operation.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and interpret diagrams.
• Acquire and allocate parts, supplies, and technical documents.
• Ensure proper servicing with fuels, oils, coolants and hydraulic fluids.
• Provide direction and training to GSE technicians; participate in hiring.
• Maintain safety programs and participate in Porter SMS; meet safety standards.
• Coordinate with other departments and manage schedule coverage.
• Assist in emergency repairs and support out bases as needed.
