Movati Athletic Inc. in Ottawa is seeking a Group Fitness Instructor to deliver high-energy, safe classes and provide an exceptional MOVATI experience.

You will teach a range of formats, build relationships with members, and help them feel welcome, comfortable and healthy. You will report to the Group Fitness Manager and lead classes such as Yoga and Cycling, ensuring on-time starts, quality instruction, and great member service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Successful completion of a nationally recognized Fitness Instruction Specialist Certification is required.
• Additional certifications to teach specialized classes and adaptations are assets.
• Experience in group fitness instruction is required.

They work hard to provide a fun and safe environment in our Studio Fitness classes, so our members leave with a memorable MOVATI experience they look forward to each day. Your typical work day will be high energy and educational, but also open to member feedback to ensure we deliver the highest caliber of instruction out there.

Role

Our Group Fitness Instructor report directly to the Group Fitness Manager, and will provide best in class fitness instruction, knowledge, coaching and motivation to Club members to help them achieve their fitness goals. You are also among the heart and soul of what keeps our members energized, moving and shaking! You will also:

• Instruct challenging and enthusiastic group fitness classes for members of all levels
• Ensure group fitness training methods and techniques conform to standardized Club training practices
• Provides exceptional Group Fitness classes, programs and service to meet the diverse needs of new and existing clients
• Build and sustain relationships with new and existing Club members
• Provide reliable Group Fitness class instruction by ensuring that classes start and end on time, and all classes are covered consistently
• Responsible for creating a fun and welcoming environment for all members
• Proactively seek feedback (positive and constructive) from class participants and share feedback with Group Fitness Manager with a view to continuously improve the program
• Experience in a variety of formats including Yoga, Cycling and land based classes considered an asset.

Group Fitness Instructor hourly wage rate: $35.00 - $70.00/hour
Yoga Instructor hourly wage rate: $45.00 - $75.00/hour

The compensation will be determined based on experience, skills set, education and training, and other organizational needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience is required
• 1+ years related Group Fitness instruction experience required\
• Successful completion of a nationally recognized Fitness Instruction Specialist Certification is required
• Additional certifications to teach specialized classes, special populations, and adapted fitness are an asset
• Successful completion of additional health and nutrition certification programs an asset
