Job summary

Perimeter Aviation is seeking an Aircraft Groomer to maintain clean interior spaces and hangar areas in Winnipeg, MB. You will follow Perimeter’s safety procedures and follow daily cleaning routines on site.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and a willingness to obtain needed security clearances; prior janitorial experience is preferred, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required or equivalent.
  • Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training is an asset.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain transportation security clearances and other authorizations.
  • 6–12 months general janitorial cleaning and customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to perform proper cleaning and floor care techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge in safe use of daily cleaning chemicals and wear safety equipment.
  • Complete assigned work schedules and adjust to additional needs.
  • Return equipment to proper location and ensure it is cleaned and ready for next use.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Customer Support Manager, the Aircraft Groomer’s primary responsibility is to ensure that the inside of the aircraft and hangar buildings are maintained adhering to Perimeter’s safe and sanitary cleaning procedures.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Maintain knowledge in the safe and correct use of all daily required cleaning chemicals, ensuring that proper safety equipment is worn, i.e. hearing protection worn at all times near running aircrafts, nitrile gloves worn when cleaning washrooms or using chemicals for cleaning, safety vests and ramp passes must be worn while on the ramp
  • Complete assigned work schedules and adjust schedule to meet additional customer and/or cleaning needs
  • Return equipment to proper location in proper working condition and properly emptied of solutions, cleaned and ready for the next use
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Required Education, Experience and Certifications

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent
  • Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations
  • 6-12 months general janitorial cleaning and customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to perform and demonstrate proper cleaning and floor care techniques

Working Conditions

  • Physical ability to perform all listed job duties including but not limited to bending, sitting, standing, lifting to a maximum of 50lbs, pushing and pulling on a daily basis
  • Safety equipment will be required; hearing protection, nitrile gloves, safety vests and ramp passes when on ramp
  • Work performed both indoors and outdoors, employee must be able to adapt to all outdoor weather conditions
