Job summary

Nature's Fare Markets in Kamloops is seeking a Grocery Team Leader to guide a busy department, coach team members, and ensure excellent customer service. You will help set daily priorities, assist with training, and engage customers with product knowledge and friendly service.

The role emphasizes leadership, teamwork, and a passion for local, organic, and sustainable foods, with a collaborative, energetic work environment and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in grocery and/or retail environment is preferred but not needed.
• Minimum of 1 year experience leading a team of amazing people.
• Experience in a customer service role is needed.
• A passion for local, organic, and sustainable food and natural supplements.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and desire to contribute to people’s health and wellbeing.
• Ability to work in an energetic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Walk the walk and talk the talk! Lead the grocery team by example and provide exceptional customer service.
• Prioritize daily tasks and provide direction to team members.
• Welcome customers warmly as they enter the department and build connections.
• Direct shift activities and assist with training and grocery expertise.
• Assist customers with product questions and make suggestions.
• Share knowledge when colleagues are unsure how to respond to customers.
• Use creativity to create attractive, organized product displays.
• Learn about new and featured products on sale via Nature’s Fare flyers.
• Be a positive team player and have fun while keeping safety top of mind.

*** The successful applicant will be scheduled to work 32 - 40 hours per week including weekdays, weekends and acombination of AM and PM shift times***

Regular Store Hours:

Mon – Sat 8:00am – 8:00pm
Sun 9:00am – 7:00pm

GROCERY TEAM LEADER

As part of one of our largest and most diverse departments, our Grocery Team Members are passionate about local, organic and sustainable food. You like helping others choose products that work best for their health and lifestyle, and you are eager to learn and try new products so you are confident in the information you are sharing! This role is a leader in our grocery team and helps inspire and motivate others in the team!

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Walk the walk and talk the talk! Working with the Grocery Manager, you will help lead the grocery team by example, providing exceptional customer service and building a positive team environment.
• Set the team up for success for the day by prioritizing daily tasks needing to be completed and providing direction to team members when needed
• Give a warm “hello!” to our customers as they enter the department – we like building connections with our new and regular customers and sharing a laugh along the way.
• Assist with giving direction during shift and be a go-to for team members questions, training, and grocery expertise
• Assist customers with questions they may have about products we and give suggestions based on their needs (don’t worry, we will train you on this!)
• If there is a question or concern that a team member is not quite sure on how to answer with a customer, you will jump in and share your knowledge!
• Use your creativity and eye for detail to make attractive and organized displays.
• Learn about new products and featured products that are on sale through Nature’s Fare’s flyers and magazines.
• In other words, you will help others, be a leader within the team, share your knowledge on our amazing products, be safe, be a great team player and have fun!
