Opportunity

Red River Co‑op is recruiting for a Grocery Clerk at the Grant Park Food Store located at 1120 Grant Avenue in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This position reports to the Grocery Manager. The Grocery Clerk provides world‑class customer service that is fast, friendly, and efficient.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Maintain sections of merchandise (non‑perishable food, dairy, frozen food, general merchandise, health and beauty, bulk food) as assigned in an effective manner.
  • Ensure first‑in, first‑out rotation is followed at all times and that close‑dated product is reported to the Grocery Manager.
  • Receive, inspect, and store orders upon delivery to ensure all product is immediately stored in proper temperature‑controlled environment.
  • Ensure the Grocery Department is properly stocked with merchandise and faced at all times.
  • Assist in building mass and bulk end displays as required.
  • Present a neat, clean, fresh, well‑merchandised department and related work areas (sales floor, end caps, coolers, freezers, receiving area, warehouse, etc.).
  • Act as Person in Charge on occasion, assisting with resolving problems that arise such as customer complaints and staffing issues.
About You
  • Previous experience in a retail grocery department is preferred but not required.
  • Open availability and willing to work different shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Available to work up to 40 hours per week.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to be trained to operate a pallet jack.
