Job summary

Walmart Canada is hiring a Grocery Associate in Port Coquitlam, BC. You will deliver excellent customer service, keep the grocery area clean and well zoned, and support stocking and sales activities to ensure a dependable shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Grocery Department Standards: Keeps the grocery department clean, organized, and properly zoned for customer readiness.
• Stock Rotation and Product Quality: Rotates merchandise and removes expired/damaged products to maintain freshness.
• Pricing, Signing, and Inventory Accuracy: Ensures merchandise is signed and priced; follows procedures for ordering, markups, markdowns, signing, and labeling.
• Food Safety and Sanitation: Follows safety, sanitation and cleaning procedures for a hygienic workplace.
• Stocking and Modular Execution: Stock merchandise, complete downstocking, and set modulars including shelf caps.
• Health and Safety Compliance: Adheres to Health and Safety guidelines and company policies.
• Flexibility (Availability/Work Schedule): Open to a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

What you’ll do…

Maintain Grocery Department Standards
Keeps the grocery department clean, organized, and properly zoned to ensure it is customer-ready at all times.

Stock Rotation and Product Quality
Rotates merchandise regularly and removes expired or damaged products to maintain freshness and quality.

Pricing, Signing, and Inventory Accuracy
Ensures merchandise is correctly signed and priced. Follows established procedures for ordering, clearance, markups and markdowns, signing, flagging, pricing, and labeling.

Food Safety and Sanitation
Follows food safety, handling, sanitation, and cleaning procedures to maintain a safe and hygienic work environment.

Stocking and Modular Execution
Ensures the department is fully stocked and ready for business by stocking merchandise and picks, completing downstocking as required, applying product protection when needed, and setting and completing modulars, including flex modulars and new shelf caps.

Health and Safety Compliance
Follows all Health and Safety guidelines and Company policies to maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free workplace.

Flexibility (Availability/Work Schedule)

• Be open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs. Your adaptability helps ensure the store runs smoothly and customers receive consistent, high-quality service.

Physical Demands

• Performs physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting inventory, equipment, or supplies weighing up to 20 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Performs repetitive tasks such as stocking, zoning, and organizing products with attention to detail and consistency to uphold store standards.
