A local volunteer organization in British Columbia seeks a Support Group Facilitator to lead a Grief Support Group. This role involves creating a safe environment for individuals to discuss their feelings and experiences related to loss. Ideal candidates will hold a relevant certificate or degree, possess excellent communication skills, and have experience with group facilitation. This is a chance to gain valuable leadership experience while volunteering remotely.
Reporting to the Patient Services Manager, the Support Group Facilitator is responsible for the key leadership of this Grief Support Group. This group provides an open, friendly, and safe environment for family members and/or caregivers to discuss issues related to losing their loved one.
Certificate or degree in counselling, psychology, social work, or a related discipline.
Volunteers will be able to create effective presentations, meet new people, and gain valuable leadership experience. Volunteers will receive recognition for their contribution to the ALS Society of BC, and be invited to volunteer recognition events.
