Job summary

Gtrworldwide in Yorkton, Canada, is seeking a motivated nursery worker to grow, maintain and prepare plants in greenhouse settings. You will support production schedules through planting, pest monitoring, maintenance and packing activities.

Responsibilities include propagating and transplanting seedlings, watering and fertilizing, monitoring pests, pruning, operating irrigation and packing for storage or shipment, while keeping work areas clean and safe.

Qualifications

• Plant propagation and transplanting techniques.
• Irrigation system operation and plant watering practices.
• Pest and disease identification and basic integrated pest management awareness.
• Pruning, trimming and plant maintenance skills.
• Safe use and maintenance of hand tools and light equipment.

Responsibilities

• Plant, transplant and pot seedlings, cuttings and container stock according to production schedules.
• Water, fertilize and apply approved treatments to maintain plant health and growth.
• Monitor plants for pests, diseases and nutrient deficiencies and report observations to supervisors.
• Prune, deadhead and perform routine plant maintenance to ensure quality and uniformity.
• Operate and maintain irrigation systems, basic greenhouse equipment and hand tools.
• Sort, grade, pack and prepare plants and materials for storage, sale or shipment, and maintain clean work areas.
