The Azrieli Music, Arts and Culture Centre (AMACC) is a catalyst, key funder, and strategic partner in creating a resilient, impactful, and connected arts sector, where all Canadians can experience and deepen their relationship with the arts. Over the next five years (2025-2030), AMACC's primary goal is to foster a more accessible arts sector, enabling more Canadians to engage with high-quality arts experiences that reflect their cultural needs and enhance their quality of life and learning.

Position Summary : The Azrieli Foundation is seeking a Grants Manager to support the work of the Azrieli Music, Arts and Culture Centre (AMACC). Reporting to the AMACC Managing Director, this role is responsible for managing and advancing AMACC's granting portfolio across all funding levels. This includes identifying new funding opportunities, managing relationships with current and potential grantees, monitoring grant performance and impact, and contributing to strategic planning.

This position requires subject matter expertise, strategic leadership, and hands-on grant management to ensure that AMACC's philanthropic investments deliver meaningful, mission-aligned outcomes across the Canadian music, arts, and culture sectors.

Responsibilities
  1. Grants Management
  2. Manage the full lifecycle of all AMACC grants, from intake and assessment through to agreements, payments, reporting, and closeout.
  3. Act as the primary contact for grantees, ensuring high standards of communication, support, and alignment with Foundation policies and values.
  4. Prepare internal documentation, including assessment summaries and funding recommendations for review by Foundation leadership and the Board.
  5. Maintain accurate and current grant records.
  6. Participate in all grants team meetings.
  7. Monitor grant outcomes and performance; develop KPIs and synthesize findings for continuous learning and strategic planning.
  8. Support and guide the AMACC Grants Coordinator in administrative and operational grant tasks.
Sector Knowledge & Strategic Alignment
  1. Maintain deep knowledge of developments across Canada's music, arts, and culture sectors and use that knowledge to shape AMACC's evolving priorities.
  2. Collaborate with the Managing Director and Advisory Council to develop and implement funding strategies aligned with AMACC's vision and the Foundation's mission.
  3. Identify, evaluate, and recommend strategic funding and partnership opportunities.
  4. Contribute insights to cross-Foundation grantmaking discussions.
  5. Foster a dynamic community around AMACC's granting activities, maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.
  6. Represent AMACC and the Azrieli Foundation at sector events, conferences, and grantee gatherings.
  7. Ensure grantees accurately represent the Foundation in public communications, adhering to brand standards.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in grantmaking, cultural philanthropy, arts administration, or related roles in the nonprofit, public, or foundation sectors.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of grants from intake to evaluation.
  • Direct experience working with organizations in Canada's music, arts, and culture sectors.
  • Post-secondary education in arts administration, cultural studies, public policy, nonprofit management, or related fields is preferred.
Skills and Attributes

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information.
