Job summary

Department of Computer Science at the University of Manitoba is seeking part-time Grader/Marker positions for COMP 1000–1020 courses. Roles run Sept 2, 2026 to Jan 8, 2027, with 0–10 hours per week and up to 78 total hours. Pay is $17.54 per hour plus vacation pay.

Orientation in September; potential meetings with instructors during the term. Applicants should have strong knowledge of 1000/2000-level CS courses and programming languages; an A in the course or demonstrated expertise is preferred.

Filling up to 19 Grader/Marker roles for 1000-level courses. COMP 1000 (0-2 Graders at 5 hrs/wk), COMP 1010 (0-9 Graders at 6 hrs/wk), COMP 1012 (0-7 Graders at 6 hrs/wk), COMP 1020 (0-1 Grader at 6 hrs/wk).__ Graders support by marking and providing feedback on a variety of course assessments. Graders may be required to attend meetings with the course instructor throughout the term.__ Contract period runs from the week before classes begin to the end of the first week in January. Actual expected grading work runs from the 3rd week of classes to the end of the exam period. Graders will have an in-person orientation in September and may be required to meet with the course instructor before classes begin.__ Good knowledge of 1000-level and 2000-level CS courses and programming languages is required. An A in the course or demonstrated subject expertise is preferred.__ Applicants could be hired for grading roles with multiple courses.
