Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Education and valid Saskatchewan teaching certificate are required.
  • Clean Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check are required.
  • First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
  • Clean driver’s license/abstract is an asset.

  • Integrate traditional ways of knowing.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans for diverse learners.
  • Assess, evaluate, and document student learning with varied methods.
  • Maintain accurate student records and reporting.
  • Support IEP development and implementation.
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with Educational Assistants, specialists, and staff.
  • Incorporate culturally relevant practices where appropriate.
  • Support attendance, engagement, and student well-being.

Job description

The Grade 7/8 Teacher supports students’ academic, social, emotional, and cultural development by delivering instruction aligned with Saskatchewan curriculum outcomes. The Grade 7/8 Teacher contributes to a safe, inclusive, and culturally respectful learning environment that promotes student well-being and success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver instruction aligned with Saskatchewan curriculum outcomes
  • Integrate traditional ways of knowing
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that reflect diverse learning styles and needs
  • Assess, evaluate, and document student learning using a variety of methods
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records and reporting
  • Support the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Create a positive classroom environment that supports engagement and learning
  • Work collaboratively with Educational Assistants, specialists, and school staff
  • Integrate culturally relevant and inclusive practices where appropriate
  • Support student attendance, engagement, and overall well-being
