JOB SUMMARY

The Base Operations Supervisor will ensure the safe and efficient operation of Grouse Mountain’s aerial tramway and gondola systems, parking lots and pay parking program. While overseeing and maintaining the cleanliness of all offices, buildings, washrooms, grounds and gardens. The Base Operations Supervisors are also responsible for recruiting, coaching and supervising a team of up to 40 front line employees.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Supervising the daily operations of both the Skyride and Gondola operations – ensuring maximum efficiency and safety
  • Managing internal payroll, data entry, personnel reviews and scheduling
  • Assisting and coordinating special requests and needs of all other departments
  • Implementing, creating and revising training and emergency procedures and operational manuals
  • Selecting, interviewing, hiring and training employees for the positions of Skyride Operators, Gondola Operators, Team Leads, Parking/Line Control Attendants and Day/Night Shift Custodians
  • Collecting and reporting visitor traffic, payroll and parking data
  • Ensuring the cleanliness and safety of all base areas, washrooms, buildings and grounds
  • Implementing emergency action planning in the event of adverse weather conditions, missing, lot or injured persons, tramway or gondola mechanical or electrical failure
  • Assisting North Shore Rescue, RCMP, North Van District Fire, BC Ambulance and other agencies with emergency operations
  • Other duties as required
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position provides direct supervision to the Base Operations team (Team Leads, Parking/Line Control Attendants, Snow Plow Operators, Skyride Operators, Gondola Operators and Custodians).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES

  • The ability to work in a variety of weather conditions (4 season resort)

WORKING CONDITIONS

Hours of Operation are weather dependant. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include a variety of start times, including shifts on weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, and other forms of manual tasks.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

$22.16 to $25.92/hour
