Since 2012, we have grown to serve hoteliers worldwide and have been recognized among Deloitte's Technology Fast 500. This role supports a fully remote, global workforce.

How You'll Make an Impact: As a Global Payroll Specialist, you’ll ensure Cloudbeds’ 650+ team members across 40+ countries — including employees and international contractors — are paid accurately, compliantly, and on time. You’ll manage end-to-end payroll processing for multi-state U.S. and Canadian employees and support payroll operations across Europe, LATAM and APAC. You’ll collaborate with HR, Finance, and external partners, including our Employer of Record provider, to maintain data integrity, ensure compliance, and streamline global payment processes. You’ll contribute to global payroll implementation and automation initiatives, supporting testing, configuration, and rollout of new Workday features. You’ll act as a subject matter expert in Workday Payroll and HRIS processes to drive efficiency, accuracy, and innovation across payroll operations, delivering a seamless, compliant payroll experience worldwide.

Our Global Payroll & Benefits Team: We are a dedicated team committed to supporting our global workforce with precision and care, ensuring every team member receives accurate compensation, comprehensive benefits, and recognition for their contributions. We value cross-functional collaboration, continuous improvement, operational excellence, and a people-first philosophy.

What You Bring to the Team
  • Lead end-to-end payroll processing for multi-state U.S. and Canadian employees, ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and on-time execution for all pay cycles.
  • Partner with the Senior Manager of Global Payroll & Benefits to identify improvement opportunities, strengthen internal controls, and implement scalable, compliant solutions that support Cloudbeds’ global growth.
  • Coordinate payroll operations across European and Latin American regions, partnering with EOR providers and local payroll vendors to facilitate the transition to a unified global payroll platform.
  • Prepare payroll reconciliations and journal entries each cycle to ensure accurate recording of wages, taxes, and benefit deductions, with full reconciliation completed each pay period.
  • Assist in accurate tracking of payroll data, including PTO balances, benefit premiums, 401(k) deferrals, and company match calculations; assist in reconciling 401(k), HSA, and FSA remittances, mandated taxes, and related tasks.
  • Conduct regular audits of payroll records, including timekeeping data, deductions, garnishments, benefits, and tax filings, maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies.
  • Support global payroll transformation and automation initiatives, including data validation, system testing, and deployment of new Workday Payroll functionality.
  • Serve as a payroll subject matter expert, delivering clear, responsive guidance and support to team members across all global locations.
  • Drive continuous process improvement and standardization to enhance payroll accuracy, ensure compliance, and elevate the employee experience.
What Sets You Up for Success
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field, or equivalent professional experience in payroll operations.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive payroll experience with U.S. multi-state and Canadian payroll processing.
  • Proficiency in Workday or comparable enterprise HRIS/payroll systems, including configuration, reporting, and integration capabilities.
  • Solid understanding of benefits administration and payroll deduction reconciliation (health insurance, retirement plans, pre-/post-tax deductions).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state/provincial, and local payroll regulations, tax requirements, and compliance standards.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas, data validation).
  • Attention to detail with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a global environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across HR, Finance, and cross-functional teams.
Bonus Skills to Stand Out (Optional)
  • Experience with global payroll transformation or automation, especially with Workday or similar platforms.
  • Experience partnering with international payroll vendors or EOR providers to streamline multi-country payroll and contractor payments.
