Vialto Partners, a leader in global mobility services, is seeking a Global Mobility Tax Manager to join a team solving complex tax issues from strategy to execution. You will uphold compliance for globally mobile employees while optimizing tax processes across international assignments.

The role emphasizes reducing tax-related risk and cost, managing remote client teams, and collaborating with experts to deliver integrated solutions for multinational clients.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Canadian & US individual tax planning for employees.
  • At least 1 year experience in people management with resource allocation, project workflows, budgets, and billing.
  • Cross-border movement experience including foreign national and expatriate issues preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exposure to AI and emerging technologies and ability to leverage AI-enabled tools.

Responsibilities

  • Tax Compliance & Advisory: Review and sign tax returns for globally mobile employees, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Coordinate remote client project teams with global delivery centers to drive project success and efficiency.
  • Provide tax guidance for business travelers and identify opportunities to expand client relationships.
  • Analyze compensation and payroll data and prepare documentation for tax optimization.
  • Conduct in-depth research on international tax issues and collaborate with subject matter experts.

Job Description

As a Global Mobility Tax Manager, you will work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Your role is essential in working with our clients to uphold compliance with tax regulations while optimizing tax processes for their employees on international assignments. This position is key in handling the tax consequences of global mobility and facilitating a smooth transition for employees across different countries. Your main objective is to reduce tax-related risks and costs, while ensuring that both the organization and its employees adhere to relevant tax laws

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
  • Tax Compliance & Advisory: Review and sign tax returns for globally mobile employees, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines. Provide tax and payroll advisory services to multinational companies and their globally mobile employees.
  • Collaboration & Employee Support: Effectively oversee and coordinate remote client project teams, ensuring seamless collaboration with colleagues across global delivery centers to drive project success and operational efficiency.
  • Client & Business Development: Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing tax guidance for business travelers, identifying new opportunities within the existing client base, and expanding relationships to drive business growth. Identify new business opportunities within existing client relationships, expand the client portfolio, and provide proactive recommendations based on market trends and regulatory changes.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze compensation and payroll data, prepare documentation for tax optimization, maintain detailed tax records, stay updated on international tax laws, and present key findings to management, auditors, and tax authorities.
  • Research & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Conduct in-depth research on international tax issues, stay updated on evolving tax laws, and work with Subject Matter Experts to develop integrated solutions for clients.
Qualifications
  • At least 5 years experiencing in Canadian & US individual tax planning for employees
  • At least 1 year experience in people management with expertise in managing resource allocation, project workflows, budgets, and billing while ensuring team workload balance, client satisfaction, and a positive work environment.
  • Preferred experience includes, cross-border movement including foreign national and expatriate issues, foreign tax compliance and the tax equalization process and managing international assignee populations of multinational clients.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and a proactive attitude.
  • Exposure to AI and emerging technologies, with the ability to leverage AI-enabled tools to enhance efficiency, support data-driven insights, and drive innovative solutions in a global service environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a field such as Business Administration/Management, Economics, Finance, International Business, Management, Quantitative Finance
  • US CPA or IRS Enrolled Agent designation.

  • This is a hybrid role, with an expectation of a minimum of two days/week in office. Available locations include: Calgary, Toronto, Vancouver
  • Compensation Range: $110,000 - 140,000 CAD
