Job summary

CES Energy Solutions in Calgary, AB is seeking a Customs Coordinator to join our North American logistics team. This full-time role focuses on cross-border shipments, customs clearance, and compliance within a fast-paced oilfield services environment.

You will coordinate international, cross-border, and domestic shipments across Canada and the U.S., manage HS/HTS classifications, prepare documentation, support USMCA/CUSMA, and drive on-time delivery while upholding regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in customs, logistics, transportation, or a related field.
• Customs or trade compliance designation/certification would be an asset.
• Experience with Canadian and U.S. customs processes and cross-border shipments.
• Strong understanding of HS/HTS classification, country of origin, duties, tariffs, and customs documentation.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate international, cross-border, and domestic shipments across Canada and the U.S.
• Coordinate customs clearance with brokers, carriers, suppliers, and internal Logistics and Procurement teams to ensure timely shipment release.
• Prepare, review, and maintain customs and shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, BOLs, certificates of origin, and other required documents.
• Review and maintain HS/HTS classifications, country of origin, duty rates, and applicable tariff requirements.
• Support the review and application of CUSMA/USMCA and other applicable trade agreements.
• Monitor tariffs, surtaxes, trade measures, and regulatory changes that may impact imported products.
• Review customs entries, duties, and taxes for accuracy and work with customs brokers to resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinate freight bookings, shipment schedules, delivery requirements, and transportation documentation.
• Work with suppliers and carriers to ensure shipments are properly documented and delivered on schedule.
• Track shipments and proactively follow up on delays, customs holds, documentation issues, and delivery exceptions.
• Maintain customs, shipment, and logistics records in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
• Support CARM, importer-of-record requirements, customs audits, broker reviews, and other trade compliance initiatives.
• Support duty recovery, refunds, drawback, and other customs-related opportunities where applicable.
• Provide customs and logistics information to Procurement, Sourcing, Operations, and other internal teams to support supply chain decisions.
• Maintain logistics and customs databases and reporting related to shipments, duties, tariffs, classifications, and freight activity.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint for data analysis, reporting, and presentations.
• Other duties as required.
