Job summary

Burke Recruiting Inc. is seeking an Accounting Manager in Vancouver, BC (onsite) to lead and mentor offshore teams, oversee month-end close, and drive process improvements.

You’ll manage Canada and international client relationships and partner with owners on strategic initiatives. The role requires CPA designation, strong public practice background, and proven leadership in a fast-paced accounting environment with expertise in Excel and AI-driven tools.

Qualifications

• CPA designation required.
• Strong public practice background required.
• Experience managing offshore teams (India or similar).
• Strong bookkeeping fundamentals to support review responsibilities.
• Proven leadership in a fast-paced accounting environment.
• Strong Excel abilities and comfort with AI-driven tools.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented and operationally minded.
• Strong communication skills and confident leadership.
• Flexibility for occasional early morning or late evening calls.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor 5-7 offshore team leads with high-quality deliverables.
• Oversee month-end close, financial reporting, and junior review.
• Manage client relationships in Canada and internationally.
• Drive operational improvements, SOP development, and systems optimization.
• Lead accounting system enhancements and implementations.
• Support strategic initiatives and direct collaboration with owners.
• Ensure accuracy and consistency across high-volume F&B client base.
• Provide authoritative leadership to offshore and local teams.
