Job summary

West Fraser in Chetwynd is seeking a GIS Analyst to support forest management planning. You will manage spatial data in the Land Resource Manager, prepare data for government standards, and collaborate on mapping, reporting, and analytics for the Woodlands department.

The ideal candidate has GIS or Forestry training, strong communication, and hands-on ArcGIS/FME experience, with SQL/Oracle knowledge and scripting ability. This is a full-time on-site role in Northeastern BC.

• Graduation from an accredited post-secondary GIS program or Forestry program.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience using ESRI Products (ArcGIS Pro, ArcSDE and ArcGIS Online/Enterprise) and FME.

• Experience with programming/scripting languages such as C#, Python, or Arcade.

Reporting to the Planning Superintendent, the GIS Analyst will take on a key role in strategic and operational forest management planning. Specific responsibilities will be determined based on the skills and interests of the successful candidate but may include:

• Familiarity with data management systems such as the Land Resource Manager (LRM).

Compensation Package:

• The salary range for this position may vary depending on experience, education, and location. The yearly salary range is between $70,000 - $83,000/year
