Job summary

Vestas is seeking a Wind Site Operations Manager in Degelis, Quebec, to lead site operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and client satisfaction. You will manage a team, oversee budgets, and coordinate maintenance to optimize turbine performance across wind farms.

The role requires on-site work with travel to wind farms, strong English communication, and a proven track record in safety-driven leadership. A company car is included as part of the package.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of management experience in a related service sector.
  • Availability to work on-site and travel (to various wind farms/turbines) as needed.
  • Technical training is an asset (knowledge of hydraulic systems or heavy rotating equipment).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.

Wind Site Operations Manager - Degelis (3 hours from Quebec)

As a Wind Site Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the operations of a service site, ensuring optimized performance, safety, and customer satisfaction. In this role, you will lead a team to promote the organization's core values and ensure optimal performance in their respective functions. Your key responsibilities will include leadership in health and safety, operational efficiency, financial performance, and client account management. You will also be responsible for resolving technical issues, managing budgets, and maintaining optimal wind turbine performance.

Responsibilities
  • Foster a health- and safety-focused environment on-site, encouraging continuous improvement in safety performance
  • Develop and engage your team to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of wind farms
  • Build strong partnerships with clients to ensure contractual commitments are met

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Hearing ability to use telephones, close range radios or related device.
  • Visual acuity including depth perception, field of vision and the ability to distinguish between colors.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl as needed, as well as hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to climb stairs & vertical ladders to heights of 60 to 100 meters and at times supervise work in confined space environments.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, carry items up to, but not more than 50 lbs. in weight.
  • Ability to observe training and obtain certification in required safety programs that include LOTO, Electrical Qualification, Fall Arrest & High Angle Rescue & Emergency Decent, and Confined Space.
  • Ability to successfully participate in all training courses, including controlled decent practical exercises.
  • Due to design parameters of fall protection equipment, the combined weight of prospective employee, required PPE and gear shall not exceed 300 lbs. Required PPE and gear may weigh up to 40 lbs.
