Job description

The Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) Division of Geriatrics has an opening for a part time Geriatrician, based in Comox, to join a team of 15 Geriatricians and Care of the Elderly physicians working across Vancouver Island.

The successful candidate will hold FRCPC or Care of the Elderly qualifications and will provide clinical support to a robust service including outpatient and inpatient consultations. The position provides rotation through select specialized geriatric services and works with dedicated multidisciplinary teams in all areas, including nurse practitioners.

The Division of Geriatrics is affiliated with the University of British Columbia Island Medical Program, and supports clinical teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate learners.

May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including :

  • Recruitment Incentive : $10, (full-time)
  • Relocation Costs Reimbursement : up to $15, (amount based on location relocating from)
  • Fee Premium : 6.93%
  • Annual Flat Fee : $10,.52
  • Rural CME : Years 3 & 4 - $ / annum; after 4 years : $ / annum
