Job summary

Recovery Alberta is seeking an Assistant Head Nurse for the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital’s 22-bed Older Adult/Geriatric Rehabilitation Psychiatry unit. You will lead staff, triage referrals, coordinate admissions and discharge planning, and support interprofessional teamwork to ensure safe, patient- and family-centered care.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Experience in mental health with an older adult population.
• 3-5 years of experience in rehabilitation nursing.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff assignments and manage patient flow.
• Triage referrals and support admissions.
• Coordinate discharge planning and interfacility transport.
• Lead Rapid Rounds and Team/Family conferences.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary teamwork and act as liaison among disciplines.
