Klohn Crippen Berger Ltd. (KCB) is seeking a Geotechnical Lab Technologist to work with engineers on large-scale infrastructure, oil sands, and mining projects from Calgary offices.

You will conduct geotechnical index testing, respond to testing requests, and support core logging, drilling supervision, and construction monitoring as needed.

Competenze

• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology is required.
• Experience performing advanced testing methodologies such as direct simple shear, triaxial tests, hydrometers, etc.
• Registered or eligible to register with ASET.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel.
• Eagerness to learn good engineering practice.

As a Geotechnical Lab Technologist, you will have the opportunity to work with Engineers and Project Managers on large-scale, world-class projects for the infrastructure, oil sands, and mining industry. This role will provide you with excellent technical challenges and an opportunity to work closely with other talented professionals committed to delivering high-quality engineering and environmental services to clients.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

• Use and grow your skills in a geotechnical lab
• Respond to requests to conduct geotechnical materials testing and reporting
• Conduct geotechnical index testing, including proctor, Particle Size Distribution (PSD) and Atterberg Limits testing together with advanced soil strength and permeability testing.
• Engage in core logging, drilling supervision and construction monitoring, as needed

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology
• Experience performing and conducting advanced testing methodologies such as direct simple shear, triaxial test, hydrometers, etc.
• Registered or eligible to register with ASET
• Valid driver’s license
• Willingness to travel
• Eagerness to learn good engineering practice
